Marcello Hernandez Wore The Larimar Shop to the Met Gala
This year’s Met Gala brought together fashion, storytelling, and personal expression — and for comedian and actor Marcello Hernandez, that expression included a meaningful connection to his Caribbean roots.

The Cuban-Dominican star wore two handcrafted Larimar pieces from The Larimar Shop during fashion’s biggest night: the Larimar Ring Eterna and a custom Larimar detail added to a brooch gifted by his mother.
The brooch originally featured a pink stone, but before the event, Ana carefully transformed the piece in our Dominican Republic workshop, replacing it with a round Larimar bead selected by hand. The result was subtle, personal, and deeply connected to home.

Known for weaving his culture and upbringing into his comedy, Marcello chose to wear something equally personal for the Met Gala — a small but meaningful reminder of heritage, family, and identity.
Found only in the Dominican Republic, Larimar is a stone shaped by nature and impossible to replicate. No two patterns are ever the same, which is why every piece we create carries its own story.

Seeing the Larimar Ring Eterna and this custom brooch detail represented on one of fashion’s most iconic stages was an unforgettable moment for our team — not only because of the event itself, but because of what the pieces represented: craftsmanship, roots, and the beauty of wearing something that feels personal.
From our workshop in the Dominican Republic to the Met Gala carpet, this story is one we are honored to share.
